GROWING PLANTS

The pieces on this series are all metaphors about life: the irremediable aging of every living being and how humans can’t stop or even control it. Since 1988 with the xylography “Creciendo” it has been a main theme in Mao’s artwork. In 2019, during a trip to Mexico, he creates a new series called “Death also grows”, exploring even further human’s mortality and dependency; always in a direct correlation with plants.
